ARTISTS' RETREAT

If you have ever wanted to paint Central Otago this is the place to do it. Free use of the purpose built huge artist studio when you stay in our B & B.

Art tutoring is offered to guests at a reasonable extra charge on a daily basis. The studio features superb views over the whole of the Hawkdun Range (made famous by Grahame Sydney). This is an all seasons venue for painting with a large wood burner (in the studio) keeping you warm in winter, and a large 3 m verandah which allows for outside painting in summer.

Numerous painting venues include the nearby Blue Lake, and heritage buildings in the historic St Bathans village as well as Falls Dam, the Otiake Conservation Park and the Manuherikia River. Access can also be arranged to the gold mining areas at Surface Hill and the Grey Lake.

Come and paint in all seasons - the amazing Autumn colours of Central, the magnificent snow vistas in winter, and softer Spring growth as well as the hot wonderful summers with the soft shadows of the long beautiful twilight. Just bring yourself, your camera and your canvases.
