We cater for a variety of weekend getaways for Girls and Guys (all year) and Teens (October – April only).
Girls Weekend Away
Come and relax and enjoy a joyous weekend in beautiful surroundings. Bring your friends and take part in a painting weekend with your host tutor and each of you will go home with your own personal original painting. No experience necessary. You will be amazed at what you can achieve. Choice of oils or pastels.
Included within cost is all art equipment required to complete your painting and full accommodation including dinner at the famed local Vulcan Hotel.
Weekend Programme
Arrive Friday evening and enjoy delicious Central Otago wines and nibbles before joining your hosts at the ‘local’ for a brief TGIF session. A wonderful night’s sleep in our luxury rooms.
Saturday begins with a hearty breakfast before your first art lesson. Painting can be at the studio or around the local area. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon teas provide a welcome break before finishing at four for drinks and a wander through the historic village. A superb dinner at the Vulcan ends a very full but enjoyable day.
Sunday again features a good breakfast before another art lesson and further working on your individual painting. After lunch paintings will be completed as much as possible for sharing with others in the group. The programme here will depend on progress with paintings. Afternoon tea will finish the programme before departure.
Costs

Guys Weekend Away
Come and have fun for a different weekend experience shooting, boating and fishing. Included in the costs are all meals including dinner at the famed ‘local’ Vulcan Hotel, all travel and fishing licences for the day. You are welcome to bring your own fishing gear and 22 rifle. However these can also be supplied at a small extra charge.
Weekend Programme
Arrive Friday evening and enjoy delicious Central Otago wines or good old Otago beer and nibbles before joining your hosts at the ‘local’ for a Friday night session. A wonderful night’s sleep in our luxury rooms.
Saturday begins with a first light rabbit shooting expedition locally before returning to enjoy a hearty cooked breakfast. After breakfast travel a short distance to Falls Dam and enjoy a day’s boating and fishing. An opportunity will be given to fish the Manuherikia River if wished. Picnic lunch and afternoon tea before returning for pre dinner drinks. A superb dinner at the Vulcan ends a very full but enjoyable day.
Sunday has three choices
Choice 1 Early morning shoot in local area before breakfast and then a short fishing session in local dams. Lunch will be followed by boating on the Blue lake.
Choice 2 Breakfast first followed by a short trip to Alexandra to power boat and fish down the Clutha River. Picnic lunch before travelling back to St Bathans for a final wind up or wind down as you wish.
Choice 3 Early breakfast before a 1.5 hr trip to Moeraki. Sea fishing for the day including picnic lunch. After lunch and a short further fishing session return to St Bathans for wind up.

Teens weekend away
For a very different, safe but fun weekend come and try horse riding/ mountain biking, and boating / swimming.
Weekend Programme
Arrive Saturday morning early for saddling up or checking our bikes. This can be all riding horses or a combination of some on horses and some on bikes – your choice. No experience is necessary to ride the horses.
Riding out all day includes morning and afternoon tea and picnic lunch. The trail follows a loop around the Falls Dam.
Return to the B & B for nibbles and a drink before a walk through the historic St Bathans village. This is followed by dinner at the ‘local’ Vulcan hotel (complete with ghost) and finally a good night’s sleep after a full day.
Sunday – a lie in followed by leisurely cooked breakfast and then a ride around the triathlon course – again horse or bike. Lunch is followed by boating with the biscuit or water skiing on the Blue Lake and if the weather is suitable swimming. Kayaks are also available for individual kayaking around the perimeter of the lake. Afternoon tea back at the B & B winds up a full and exciting weekend.

Golfing Weekends
There are two 18 hole golf courses and five 9 hole golf courses within 30 – 40 minutes of the B & B.
Let us arrange a golfing weekend for you and your friends. Golfing weekends can be girls, guys or mixed.
Free transport available for up to 7 people and gear to and from these courses. This allows you to enjoy your day without a care.
There are numerous competitions available throughout the year.
